Here are 7 easy summer dessert recipes that will make your mouth water. Whether you need a sweet treat for yourself, your family, or a party, these crowd pleasers are some of my all time favorite summer desserts.
They’re very beginner friendly, so even if you’re not someone who makes things from home all of the time, you will be able to make at least one of these recipes (try the banana bread if you want the easiest one!).
I hope that you try a recipe from this list that brings you and the people you love joy! That’s what these do for me.
These easy summer dessert recipes are some of the simplest but most delicious desserts that I could eat over and over again. And the best part is, they’re easy to make.
This post is all about easy summer dessert recipes. They’re in no particular order, they’re all so good for different reasons! I hope that there’s a recipe on this list that you decide to try out yourself. If you make it, tag me @garlandcollections on Instagram – I can’t wait to see how it turns out.

1. The Best Banana Bread
Banana bread is such a comfort dessert. It’s an easy crowd pleaser and is the epitome of a cozy night in. And this banana bread recipe never disappoints.
It’s a super easy recipe, but no one would ever guess how easy it was to make because of how delicious it tastes. This is my HOLY GRAIL banana bread recipe.
This is a great recipe to make for yourself, your family, or if you have a small group of close friends coming over and need a simple dessert. It’s nothing fancy, but it tastes amazing.
Also, I eat gluten free because I am gluten intolerant, so rest assured that any of these recipes can be made gluten free if you use measure for measure gluten free flour. Just substitute it for the all purpose flour in any recipe.
2. Easy Fruit Cobbler
Okay, this recipe has so many great reviews. It’s from All Recipes, which is one of my favorite places to look for staple recipes that you can make over and over. That’s what this easy fruit cobbler is!
You pick what fruit you want to use – berries, peaches, or some combination of summer fruits – and it comes together to make a delicious summer fruit dessert.
Cobblers are so easy, so delicious, and so summery. I absolutely LOVE a fruity dessert, and making a cobbler is such a great way to enjoy a great summer dessert.
3. Smashed Raspberry White Chocolate Layer Cake
This cake has a wow factor because it’s a beautiful layer cake. Especially when you top it with fresh raspberries, it looks so good. I love something that looks gorgeous but has a homemade feel.
That’s probably why I love the recipes that Tieghan from Half Baked Harvest comes up with so much, because most of them have that homey feel while having beautiful presentation at the same time.
And this cake recipe is making my mouth water just looking at the photos. It’s a simple cake batter with fresh smashed raspberries and raspberry jam swirled in – which is just genius.
4. Lemon Coconut Vanilla Sheet Cake
Sheet cakes are so simple and SO good. They’re reminiscent of childhood in the best way, and this one takes things up a notch with its dynamic flavors and presentation. This is a great summer dessert recipe for a crowd. There’s nothing like a square of sheet cake, so you know they’ll love it.
Piping the frosting on top to get that beautiful look makes this cake feel chic without being fussy. Of course, you can always spread on the frosting with a knife if that’s all you have, but if you can pipe it on, it’s that extra step that makes the presentation so good.
This lemon coconut vanilla flavor combination makes this sheet cake a perfect, easy summer dessert recipe that is sure to be a crowd pleaser (even if the crowd is just you!).
5. Mom’s Peach Crisp
Peach season is one of my favorite times of year, and you have to take advantage of the fresh peaches by making a special dessert. You just have to! It’s a must.
I love peach cobbler, peach pie, peach galette, and peach crumble. This peach crisp is just so simple and easy to make, and has a very similar feel to those other amazing peach desserts with a lot less of the work. It’s seriously so easy to make.
Peach crisp is a summer dessert that you can adjust the measurements to make it for a single serving or for a much larger group. I tend to eyeball the measurements for the filling, and make sure you have enough of the topping so that the filling is all covered. This is a great recipe to double if you’re serving a larger group or if you have a lot of peaches to use!
6. Lemon Blueberry Mini Cheesecakes
Mini single serve desserts are so much fun, and these mini cheesecakes have that delightful element going on. They’re also so delicious. If you’re a cheesecake lover and want a summery twist on one of your favorite desserts, this is the perfect summer dessert recipe for you.
The great thing about this dessert recipe is that it isn’t too complicated. Like all of the recipes on this list, it’s easy to make and is such a crowd pleaser (people are definitely going to ask you to make this again).
7. Easy Lemon Bars
One of the most classic summer dessert recipes – the lemon bar. It only felt right to end with a staple, easy, no brainer recipe. These lemon bars are so straightforward and so lovable. They’re tangy, sweet, and have that refreshing summery lemon flavor.
Everyone in my family LOVES lemon bars, so these are always a great crowd pleaser for them. We love ourselves a fruity dessert. Lemon bars are also a great choice to serve at a party because they’re easy to serve and easy to eat. They’re not messy and you can hold them and cut them all up in advance.
If you ever find yourself wondering what dessert to make, these are always such a good choice. I think they’re perfect for summer and they’re very beginner baker friendly.
