These are some of the best frames for wall art and most of them are very affordable, which makes them perfect to use for a gallery wall or any wall art in your home.
Finding frames that look great and do what they’re supposed to do is not always as foolproof as it should be. That’s exactly why I put together this list of frames that are high quality and look great. I love using lists like this too, because it makes it so much easier to find what I need. I hope that this helps you find exactly what you need!
This list of 21 frames for wall art is full of contemporary and classic frames. You can mix and match these styles to create a beautiful, eclectic look. The more you mix, the better!
The first 12 frames are from Amazon, 13 through 16 are from West Elm, and 17 through 21 are from Anthropologie. The ones at the end of the list are more expensive, but they also are some of the most artsy and unique. I love the simple frames from Amazon too because they never go out of style and they’re perfect for a gallery wall.
This post is all about frames for wall art. Let’s get into this list!
1. Mantello Black Picture Frame – Display 8×10-Inch Photos (Matted) or 11×14-Inch Photos (No Mat), Set of 3
There are a lot of good reasons for getting a set of three frames. The most obvious is that you could hang them all up next to each other for a very classic and cohesive look. Another great use for a frame set like this is to use them all in a gallery wall together. And yet another great use is to use them here and there throughout your home to create continuity from space to space.
If you’re curious about how to make a gallery wall at home, check out this blog post where I outline a super easy method (trust me, if I could do it, so can you 😆). You also can download these free gallery wall templates! The freebie includes 5 of my favorite unique gallery wall layouts, plus measurements for frames so that you know exactly what you need.
2. Afuly 8×10 Photo Frame Wood Picture Frames 11×14, Set of 2
This light color of wood looks gorgeous in a frame. The thickness is also spot on because it’s not super thick or thin, so it’s a very timeless design. Again, sets of frames are great (especially if they’re simple and timeless like these).
3. Vossington 9×12 Frame Bronze Picture Frame
There’s something so eye catching about this color bronze, and it’s very unique. I look at frames a lot, and I’ve seen many more gold and silver frames than bronze. I love how the bronze gives it a somewhat historical look, and then it’s a very thin, modern frame. It’s a mix of styles in itself! And so lovely.
4. Umbra Exhibit Picture Frame Gallery Set Adjustable Collage Display for 5 Photos (Holds Two 4 x 6 inch and Three 5 x 7 inch Images)
These gallery wall rails have become really popular, and I can totally understand why. They’re extremely renter friendly, because you don’t have to adhere each individual frame to the wall. As a whole, it looks so put together and pretty. And it’s a very easy way to get the look of a gallery wall without any hassle.
5. Frametory, 11×14 Aluminum Frame, 8×10 Photo with Ivory Mat for Wall Display, Sawtooth Hanger, Swivel Tabs, Spring Clips (Black, 1-Pack)
Simple, classic, modern but not too modern – this black frame is the best. There’s nothing super exciting going on here, and that’s exactly why it’s so useful. This would look great on its own, in a gallery wall, or wherever you choose!
6. AceList Metal Picture Frames, Set of 3 Ornate Minimal Floating Edge Clear Glass Table Top Easel Stand Photo Frames in Gold, 5 x 7
This style of frame has always been a favorite of mine. It looks vintage, timeless, sleek, and beautiful. It’s the perfect frame to put a photo of a favorite memory, person, or moment. Leaning one of these up on my nightstand or desk so that I can see it all of the time is my fave.
7. Lawrence Frames Sutter Gold 8×10 Picture Frame
Beautiful and gold, I love how elegant this frame is. It has a sense of history to it with its vintage feel, and it would look so pretty by itself or in a gallery wall. And 8 by 10 frames always come in handy.
8. Frametory, 12×16 inch Gold Metal Picture Frame – Aluminum Thin Molding – Photo Frame with Ivory Color Mat for 8.5x11Wall Art & Pre-installed Mounting hardware – Real Glass
This gold frame is so pretty and has a more modern look than the last two gold frames. I love how this looks paired with these black frames and would definitely use this in a gallery wall. It would like great on its own too but it would go well with so many other frames that I think I would be too tempted to use it that way instead.
9. TRIPAR 4 Inch Metal Gold Plated Square Wire Plate Stand Holder Easel Display for Cookbooks, Photos, Picture Frames, & Plates
This isn’t exactly a frame, but these easel displays are becoming more and more popular, and I am obsessed with them. They can make anything look good. You can use this to display a cookbook in your kitchen, to hold an unframed canvas on top of your dresser – there are so many great ways that you can make use out of this. It instantly elevates a room.
10. ENJOYBASICS 16×20 Picture Frame Black Poster Frame,Display Pictures 11×14 with Mat or 16×20 Without Mat, Wall Gallery Photo Frames, 2 Pack
Surprise! Another set of black frames. Haha – but hear me out. These have a slightly thicker edge, so they can help balance out more contemporary looking frames. And if the super thin sides weren’t for you, these are a more classic take on those. I love these and they are sooo useful because they go with everything.
11. EdenseeLake 8×10 Picture Frame Set of 4, Rustic Weathered Brown Photo Frames for Wall and Tabletop Display
These dark brown wooden frames are really elegant. It’s all in the details with these frames. They have a beveled edge, so they aren’t just flat. This gives them dimension and character that most frames do not have, especially at this price point. These frames will breathe elegance into your home.
12. Miaowater 2 Pack Poster Frame,12×15 12×16 12×17 12×18 12×20 Magnetic Light Wood Wooden Frames Hanger for Photo Picture Art Canvas Print Artwork Wall Hanging Teak Wood 12”
These are a really unique way to frame your art or a poster. I love using these because they have a different look than a traditional frame and it can look really pretty in a bedroom or an office. They’re super easy to hang up, too.
13. Multi-Mat Wood Gallery Frames – Wheat
These are by far the most used frame in my house. I love these. They’re a little bit pricier, but they look so good. I love the warm wood tone and the little details on these frames are so good. If you see a frame in a photo of mine that you like, chances are it’s one of these.
14. Assorted Modern Lacquer Frames
These are super cute to put on your nightstand, your desk, or anywhere you can slip in a little frame. Of course you could use these for photos, but this post is all about frames for wall art so I have to give you this special tip that I use all of the time: if you want to put wall art in one of these frames, you can.
Next time you travel or go to a museum, pick out a post card with a cool sketch or print of artwork on it. Then when you bring it home, you’ll have something that’s the perfect size for a frame like this. It’s amazing how many beautiful post cards there are out there.
15. Terrace Folding Frames – Brass
These are up there among some of my favorite frames to put on any tabletop, because they have a beautiful vintage yet whimsical look. Somehow they almost remind me of a vintage locket, do you know what I mean?
I love how feminine these are, and I think they would look so good on a nightstand or in a girl’s room. When I see these I immediately think of my sister because they seem like something she would have in her apartment. I love them.
16. Brass Picture Frame Easel
Another little easel for you! Again, this can elevate any space because these are a little bit more unique and I haven’t seen a ton of people catch onto this interior designer trend yet. I love how simple and elegant this one is.
17. Zoe Frame
Ahh, we made it to the Anthropologie frames. If you love color, pattern, and texture as much as I do, you’ll be so pleased with these last few frames. I love this one for obvious reasons, it’s so beautiful and unique! Tucking a frame like this into a bookshelf would be stunning.
18. Bistro Frame
These frames have so much personality. I can picture them adding warmth and a little bit of Parisian elegance to your bathroom or home office. I can’t get over how cute these are.
19. Sullivan Frame
These frames are a little bit more subtle, and I could easily see them working in a gallery wall. But honestly, they stand alone so well. The flecks of metallic that look painted on get me every time.
20. Anna Spiro Frame
Need a little oomph in your life? These will do it! I love these bright, fun, patterned frames. They look a little bit retro but also so modern and chic. Literally these speak for themselves.
21. Eliza Frame
We made it to the last frame! If you stuck around ’til the end, you’re a real one. And you deserve this gorg frame. To be honest, I’m running out of words to use to describes frames for wall art, but I think you get the gist by now. These are pretty! They’re cute! They have a little flare to them! What else is there to add?
