When the times comes to get a gift for your friend, it can be hard to find the best holiday gift ideas for friends that are good for any occasion. These are foolproof gift ideas that fit a range of price points that will make your friend feel extra special without breaking the bank.
Gift giving is a love language that I cherish. It’s always been a way to make people I care about feel special for me, because I know how good it feels to receive a wonderful and thoughtful gift (my mom is a really good gift giver, guys).
You definitely don’t need to spend a lot of money to achieve that. It’s such a cliché, but it really is the thought that you put into it that counts. And these gifts make it easy to do that.
This list of holiday gift ideas for friends is short but mighty. And the best part? These work for almost ANY OCCASION. Because there’s always a last minute gift situation in my life, I know there must be in yours, too. These always have my back when I’m in a pinch.
I curated this list so that there is something for everyone, whether they’re a foodie, a plant mom, a skincare junkie, or someone who seems to have everything already.
This post is all about holiday gift ideas for friends. You can pair some of these together or get them on their own! These gifts come in at a variety of price points all the way from $18 to $64.
1. Variety Box of Chamberlain Steeped Coffee Bags
Food and drinks are always a safe gift for friends, because you most likely know whether or not your friend likes something like coffee. Or matcha! I also love the Chamberlain Coffee matcha.
I actually got this Variety Box for my sister as part of her Christmas present this year, and she been loving the coffee. Even her boyfriend who thought he ONLY liked Starbucks said that it was the best coffee he ever had. I was like WOW! This is such a good gift! I love when an experiment like that GOES RIGHT.
This clear tumbler would be a perfect addition to this gift because then they can take their coffee on the go with them. Genius (if I do say so myself 😉 haha).
2. The Essential Edit from Glossier
The Essential Edit from Glossier is a great gift because it falls at a very neutral price point, $50, so you don’t feel have to feel stressed about overspending or underspending. It also has amazing products in it! You get some of the best of Glossier with this set. Plus it comes in such cool packaging that anyone who opens this will feel so special and excited.
Glossier has a bunch of options that make for such delightful gifts. Their Balm Dotcom Trio is perfect for someone who loves to have a cute lip balm on them at all times, and The Dreamy Color Set is something I know I would love to receive as a gift. I’ve never been disappointed by a Glossier product. They’re such a fair price and their products last me for a long time.
3. Ric Rac Cactus from The Sill
It wouldn’t be a Garland Collections gift guide without some cute homey gifts, and this cutie plant from The Sill is just right. I love that you don’t need to worry about if your friend has pets or not because this plant is totally pet friendly.
You also can rest assured it will be the coolest plant that they own because of its squiggly sprigs. Thankfully, this is a beginner friendly plant (check this blog post out for more beginner friendly plant picks). So even if your friend doesn’t have the greenest of thumbs, they won’t have too much trouble keeping this plant happy.
P.S. – You can get this plant for as little as $28 if you get the grow pot only and the smaller size. You also can get a really adorable pot and the larger size for $64, and it will ship wherever you want! This is why I love The Sill.
4. Aimee Claw Hair Clip Set from Anthropologie
Claw clips are everything lately because they look so cute and a little glamorous (especially these ones). It’s a great way to treat your friend to something nice that they might not splurge on for themselves.
This is something that I would get for one of my friends as something kind of small but still really cute and useful. The Botanical Claw Hair Clip Set is also really cute and a little more unique and colorful if you think your friend would prefer that.
5. The Five Minute Journal
We all know someone who’s on their mindfulness journey, and this journal is such a great gift because it’s something that they will actually use. It’s a really approachable style of journaling. The book includes prompts for journaling every morning and every night for an easy five minutes.
You might just be the reason for your friend’s new favorite ritual if you get them this! It has so many amazing reviews and I have used the prompts myself and found them so helpful in starting a journaling practice.
6. Hario Cold Brew Coffee Bottle
This makes the best cold brew that I have ever tasted. I’m not kidding. I basically forced my boyfriend to get this because I thought it was cool, and somehow it actually worked (rare) and it turned out to make THE BEST COLD BREW. He uses his every single day, and I got one for myself, too.
Also, this will obviously be the coolest thing in their fridge. I mean come on! It’s so cool looking. And the coffee tastes amazing. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.
7. Snowdrops Lino Print by NatashaPittsArt on Etsy
Giving a cute art print to a friend is one of the most thoughtful gifts that you can give. It’s a little unexpected, but always deeply appreciated and adored.
This is handmade so it could go out of stock, but check out the rest of this Etsy seller’s shop if you like this print because there were so many other pretty ones to choose from!
Make sure you check out these art prints if this goes out of stock or you want to look at more beautiful art that would make for such a thoughtful gift. I also have a post completely dedicated to Etsy digital art prints if you want to look into that instead.
8. Half Baked Harvest Cookbook: Recipes from My Barn in The Mountains by Tieghan Gerard
A gift that you really can’t go wrong with is this cookbook. It is full of delicious recipes. Truly mouth watering, yummy food. It’s perfect for anyone who loves to cook at home or who’s learning how to cook. I still consider myself a student in the kitchen and these recipes have taught me so much!
Her Super Simple cookbook is also really good! I received it as a gift from my grandparents and I love it. Anyone who knows me has heard me talk about these recipes because they make cooking so approachable and the food simply always tastes so good.
9. While We Were Dating by Jasmine Guillory
This is such a fun and easy read, which makes it the perfect book to gift! I was in need of something light and easy to read to get back into reading regularly for pleasure, and this was just right.
It’s romantic, it’s a page turner, it’s funny, and it’s well written. It has become a go to novel to recommend to friends and to gift. Especially if I know they love a good read.
I hope that some of these holiday gift ideas for friends resonated with you and inspired you. And most of all, I hope that you found something that you’re excited to gift to your friend.
