You might be thinking “it’s crazy to paint a room orange” and I would say maybe it is!! But it’s so fun. It’s so beautiful. And it has such a positive impact on a small space.
Growing up, my younger sister’s bedroom was painted this orange color. My mom used the orange as inspiration for the blue and orange quilt on my sister’s bed, and she added hues of blue throughout the space to counter the orange. They complimented each other perfectly, so I will always think of this color first when I think of a small bedroom.
Also, I wish that I could have found better pictures to represent the Benjamin Moore paint colors on this list, but this was the most accurate way to display the colors. The Farrow & Ball and Clare Paint colors have slightly better photos, but don’t let that fool you. Benjamin Moore is my go to for any paint project. I love the other two brands as well, but I had to point that out so that you give the Benjamin Moore colors a fair chance, too ๐.
2. Plum Royale by Benjamin Moore

This gorgeous plum color will transform a small bedroom into a cozy haven. It’s such a rich and beautiful color. It gives soothing and safe energy and makes a small bedroom a perfect place to recharge.
I love the coziness of this color, but it definitely will not make your room feel bigger. It’s a color that accentuates the snug and quaint vibe of a room. Tread with some caution with a color this powerful, but also know that you can use it to paint a chair or a bookcase as a way of bringing that warm energy into your space.
3. Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore

If you like to keep things simple, airy, and open, this is the color for you. Swiss Coffee is a classic Benjamin Moore color that is a warm white. It will give your space that light airiness that white paint has, without being harsh or sterile. It’s warm, like frothy milk on the top of a delicious latte.
When in doubt, this is a very safe choice that will make your small bedroom feel bigger and more open. You can always make things more exciting with textiles, art, and decor, and this color provides a beautiful and timeless backdrop for that.

If you love pink as much as I do, this is for you. This versatile pink color has deep, rich mauve undertones. Farrow & Ball calls it “a romantic and muted rose.” Absolutely delightful.
The coziness that this pink has is unmatched. It is so warm, soft, and feminine. I adore this color because it is a pink that has so much to it. You will love how warm and cozy this makes your small bedroom feel. It also matures really well if you have a little girl and are eager to use pink.
6. Oval Room Blue by Farrow & Ball

This is the coziest blue. It has a historic feel, but can pair with contemporary design to provide a harmonious balance as well. Definitely keep in mind that this blue can be a chameleon color. With so many different undertones, it will look different depending on the space it’s in and how much natural light it gets.
Oval Room Blue pairs really well with grays and other cool tones. It’s a great compliment to a neutral color palette as well. Keep in mind that this is a mid blue color. It’s not quite a dark blue or a light blue, it sits in between. This color is a really interesting one.
Like most of these colors, I would recommend getting a sample of it and testing it out on the wall first before you order a lot of paint. You definitely will want to see what undertones this color picks up in your space so you know what it will look like.

This is a color that could work well in any small space because of the personality it brings to a room. It’s fun without being overwhelming. Purple works really well in a small space because it keeps the color contained, but it makes the room that it’s in feel really special and unique.
8. Penthouse by Clare Paint

It’s time to talk about some more neutrals, because I know that color isn’t always the right move for a small bedroom. Sometimes in order to make it feel bigger and brighter, you need a bright and beautiful gray. That’s exactly where Penthouse comes in. It’s one of Clare Paint’s bestsellers for a reason.
It feels bright without feeling cold because it blends warm and cool tones perfectly. This grey color will open up your room and instantly make it feel bigger.
Also โ I saved my two favorite grays for last (the other one is number 10 ๐). So don’t worry if you don’t think color is going to work for you! I think you will love one of these grays, and there’s always Swiss Coffee to go back to if white is what you need.
9. Deep Dive by Clare Paint

Indulge in Deep Dive, this gorgeous dark blue. It’s super cozy and a little bit masculine, making a small bedroom feel like a wonderful hideaway. It has great customer reviews, too.
It’s rare to find a blue that has warmth to it, but this one does. And it’s a true dark blue. It feels indulgent and luxurious, and strikes all of the right notes if you were considering going for a darker color.
