There’s nothing more boring than when everyone’s homes look the same, so these tips will help you make your space look more unique and custom. We’re going to go over how to create a vision for your bathroom wall art and execute it.
This post is all about wall art pictures for bathroom.
Creating your vision for bathroom wall art
First things first, you need to feel inspired. This whole process is meant to cultivate the feeling that you want to have when you walk into your bathroom. That feeling needs to be at the top of your mind each step of the way. Your vision needs to be clear.
Start by finding some inspiration for wall art that you like in the bathroom. I always turn to Pinterest for this, because it is a place with bountiful inspiration. Especially if you are a visual person like I am, Pinterest is so helpful. I have an entire board dedicated to Bathroom Design inspiration that you can use. A problem that I run into is that well designed interior spaces often lack beautiful art. If you want Art Inspiration for your bathroom walls, check out my Pinterest board dedicated to that. Because art makes the biggest difference in how you feel in a space.
Keep in mind that your layout has a big impact on how your art adds to a room. Placement is important. Wherever you have blank wall space is an option. Try to choose a part of the wall where art will fit in nicely without having tons of blank space on both sides of it. The edges of the wall help ground your art so that it looks like it belongs where you put it.
Based on where you want to hang your art, think about what layout you want your wall art to have. Decide whether or not you are searching for a cute pairing of art, one large piece of art, or even a trio of pieces that all speak to one another.
Choosing art for your bathroom that you love
This step is always the hardest, because it feels like you can mess it up. I have noticed that people often get cold feet about redesigning a space when it comes to committing to buying art. If you’re not someone who is passionate about art, it can be intimidating to spend money on it. Rest assured, you will be able to find something that suits your style.
I turn to visuals for inspiration with choosing art. By searching on Pinterest and Instagram, you can get a sense of what you are drawn to. When in doubt, turn to small local artists. Learning more about an artist and feeling a personal connection to their work will set the foundation for how you feel in your space. Creating intimate moments with the art that you choose because of the connection you feel to it is at the crux of any well designed space.
If you’re curious about local artists or learning about contemporary artists, I have blog posts about Boston local artists and contemporary African American artists. It is so important and so special to support art locally and to support artists of color.
Spend extra time finding art that is unique and is one of a kind. You will feel how special this makes your space when you have it. Art makes such a big difference in your space, it is so worth finding art that is special and that you love.
If you’re looking for something unique that you haven’t seen before, make sure you read my blog post about textiles and fiber art. It’s the next big trend you are going to see in art and design. If you’re looking for something new, that might be a good route for you!

Finding the right frames for your art
Framing your art is a really important step. It elevates your design to the next level and adds a finished look. Lately, thin frames with thick mattes have been trendier and generally look more modern. However, I think keeping it simple with your frames and going for something a little bit more basic lets your art shine and tends to look more timeless. People don’t tend to switch their wall art frames often, so I think going for a more timeless look is usually best.
I really like having a matte inside the frame because it creates a really strong visual effect for your eye. Having a matte accentuates the best elements of the art you are framing. A good matte can make anything look more high end.
Two simple frame options are these frames from West Elm or these frames from Amazon. West Elm frames are more expensive, but they are so gorgeous. If you need a more affordable option, these Amazon frames are hard to beat!
I also have a blog post all about framing and frames for your art โ learn more about all things frames here. In that blog post, you will learn all of the most important dos and don’ts of framing. There also is helpful information at the end of that blog post all about where to shop for frames.
Hanging up your art
This part relates back to the vision you started with. Hanging up your wall art pictures for bathroom well really depends on what space you are working with. In one of my bathrooms, I have a large print hanging above the toilet.
In this photo below of another bathroom in my house, there are three different prints hanging up throughout the bathroom. The two birds go together, and they are on one small wall where they fit without leaving too much blank space open on the sides. Since bathrooms are usually on the smaller side, don’t worry too much about having too much blank space on the walls. Hang up your art where you have the wall space and where it doesn’t get in the way of the functionality of your space.
Art is meant to enhance your space and bring it to life, so you want it to be in a noticeable location that is easy on the eyes without being hard on you. And make your life easier by deciding on a spot to hang up your art and stick with it. Make sure not to hang up your art too high, because that is a really common mistake.
I love being playful with the art in your bathroom. Sometimes it’s fun to swap out the art in here the most, because you see it all of the time and it can get repetitive. Collecting art that you love throughout your life is so worthwhile, so that you have the ability to enhance different spaces in your home and you can swap pieces out for others if you want to.
Adding wall art pictures for bathroom to your space can be just what it needs to give it a complete, well designed look and feel. Plus, looking at art every time you go to the bathroom is pretty nice. Ha!
That’s it for this post about finding the best wall art pictures for bathroom! I hope that you got inspiration that will help you design your bathroom in a way that you love. It’s a space that you go in multiple times a day, so even though it’s not always the most glamorous space, it deserves your attention. Having art in your bathroom will make you so happy. I love that when I wake up and go to the bathroom first thing in the morning, I am greeted by art that I love.
